Facilities

The department of Cardiology handles all acute cardiac emergencies and also runs a number of clinics to look after the needs of the patients with chronic illnesses. The coronary intensive care unit has seven beds, and facilites for invasive monitoring. Plans are afoot to start cardiac catheterisation lab with facilities for  angiograms and angioplasties by the end of this year. The department currently offers the following

Treadmill1. Computerized treadmill
2. Color doppler echocardiogram
3. 24 hour Holter monitoring.
4. External pacemaker
5. Temporary and permanent pacemaker implantation
6. Intracardiac defibrillator implantation
7. Biventricular pacing
8. Cardiac rhythm management
9. Heart failure, pacemaker and prosthetic valve clinics
